Were you a JW trophy wife? Not necessarily a serious thread.
by FlyingHighNow insal, it's funny but things were much more shallow in the dubs.
i noticed some of the ugliest blokes getting pretty little trophy wives so long as they had a job or were the sons of elders.
my dad (an elder) even went so far as to encourage me to come back to the dubs because i would easily pull a good looking wife .

It's so true though. An 18 year old girl I know married a 48 year ugly creep. But he was an elder and the conductor of her parents book study. She had a 9th grade education and dropped out to become a pioneer. She's also gorgeous and has a heck of a body.

You Knew The Score!
by Englishman inmany years after i was df'd, i found myself at the end of a shunning campaign led by a robotic jw neighbour.. the neighbour had moved in next door to me.
he'd even borrowed some tools of mine before he discovered that i was an ex.
at this point he began a serious "i'm ignoring you" strategy which i found utterly hilarious as he was the one who had chosen to move in next door to me.

Exactly the love bombing clouds your judgement.
My parents had no idea that they would be shunned if they walked away. They thought they'd be shunned if they got DFed and as a happily married couple with no bad habits they never gave that aspect a second thought.
When they got baptised and the love bombing got cut short they began to see what it was really like in there. That's the main reason they didn't rush me into getting baptised. Especially since they knew I'd be DFed as a teen.
I've said this before on this site but I love how my parents handle the shunning. Whever they see an old dub friend they approach them with big smiles and hugs, tell them how they should come over for dinner and it's all happy times. Some dubs respond kindly but many treat them as though they are lepers. My dad is really good at this.

I still haven't caught it but I will. I saw a little deal about the writer who is lesbian. I'm sure she would love to keep it accurate but of course that wouldn't sell and it wouldn't be on the tube.

I've taken a break from this site because I think it gets pretty lame at times and I've thought about not coming back except to leave a goodbye message. It appears that most would prefer that people like me just fade away rather than to "DA" myself. Well, go figure.
